Dr. Miten R. Sheth is an Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon. He is passionate about the evolving field of knee surgery and is recognized for his surgical skills. Dr. Sheth has special expertise in treating early-moderate and severe osteoarthritis of the knee, ACL-PCL tears and multi-ligament injuries in young athletes, and acute or degenerative meniscus-cartilage damage.

He is a clinician scientist and utilizes his comprehensive research on the knee to improve patient care. Dr. Sheth is adept at arthroscopic surgery, ligament repair and reconstruction, cartilage restoration, treatment of fractures and arthroplasty (replacement surgery). Additionally, he uses regenerative medicine to optimize his patients' healing and recovery.

Dr. Sheth has published more than 10 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, 5 book chapters, and has given over 50 professional presentations, symposia, and lectures. He has received many awards for his research, including the S.P. Mandal Award at the Indian Orthopaedic Conference (IOACON) in 2014. He is an ardent follower of evidence-based medicine, with many referrals from physicians due to successful patient outcomes.

BASIC EDUCATION

After his graduation at Lokmanya Tilak Medical College, Sion Hospital, Mumbai (MBBS), Dr. Miten Sheth completed his Masters in Orthopaedic surgery (MS) at King Edward Memorial (K.E.M.) Hospital, Mumbai- one of the foremost centers of post-graduate teaching in the country. In fact, he won the Pandurangi- Best Resident Award for his committed attitude towards learning and compassion for patients. He then returned to his hometown in North Mumbai and spent a year at the ESIS (Govt.) Hospitals in Mulund and Thane, providing free orthopaedic service to society. During his tenure at ESIS Hospital he accomplished another herculean task, passing the National Board of Examinations in his first attempt (general pass percentage over the years has been around 50%). With Masters in Orthopedic Surgery (MS) and Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) behind him, he looked to new challenges.

His time at Government hospitals for over 10 years, gave a deep insight to people's troubles. Motion is life and our knees are the core, the basis of all movements. Prevalence of knee pain and disability having increased substantially in the last few years, spurned him to specialize specifically in Knee Surgery. Not surprisingly, he spent umpteen solo hours (days) at the Cadaver dissection lab at K.E.M. Hospital, learning and exploring anatomy of the knee.
